Okay, I'll explain this. What song/songs do you think are the most romantic song/songs you've ever herd? I mean, what song/songs make you feel really romantic?

Post 2 by nikos (English words from a Greek thinking brain) on Saturday, 24-Feb-2007 7:21:06

I don't know many English songs but of what i heard so far i would say fields of gold by sting and i want to hold your hand by the Beetles.

Post 3 by maroon five (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Saturday, 24-Feb-2007 7:46:02

Nikos, they are very romantic songs. Oh, while I'm here, I may as well do mine. The most romantic song I've ever herd is, "learn to fly, by mr. mr."

Post 4 by Reyami (I've broken five thousand! any more awards going?) on Tuesday, 27-Feb-2007 12:36:16

The most romantic song ... Hmmm ... Well, there is one song I love listening to at least once a day. It's called "When You Say You Love Me," by Josh Groban. (Happy twenty-sixth birthday, Josh!)

Another romantick song is a song in French called la'mour est bleu which means love is blue by a Greek artist called Vicky Leandros.
This song was a eurovision entry for Luxemburg but i don't remember which year.
I don't know what the lyrics mean but it sounds very romantick to me.
You can hear it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LciAx14Oa6Y
I was looking in google for Vicky Leandros one day and found it. Very glad i did. The sound quality is good.

Post 10 by Resonant (Find me alive.) on Thursday, 01-Mar-2007 22:48:58

Falling Aeroplanes, by Darron Hanlen.
Little piece of his soul, Mia Dyson.
Any number of Bear Naked Ladies songs can melt me into adoring goo, cause I'm weird that way.
Take me to the place I love, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and yes, I know it's actually called something else, and isn't particularly romantic, but it sure puts me in the mood.
Dolphin's Cry, by Live, which is all about the sweet teenage nostalgia for me. And his voice in the opening lines. Yum!
Throw your arms around me, by the Hunters and Collectors, which has a lot of covers that are about a hundred times nicer to listen to than the original. My vote's for the Eddie Vetter cover.

"Come What May," from Mulanrouge,
"You." by Michelle Branch
"As long as your mine," from the musical Wicked
"A Boy and a Girl." by Eric Waitacre. Ooooooooooooh.
"Collide," Howie Day
"Right here waiting," is a great one.
"I'll Cover u." from Rent soooooooooooo cute
" U and me." by Life House,
"Fall to pieces," Avril LaVeign,
"Keep Holding on."
"Hey there, Delilah,"
"Oops I'm sorry," by Lexx,
"Time After Time,"
And "All I ask of u," from Phantom of the opera. Damn. Long list and there's more. Great topic, Liz.

Post 26 by blw1978 (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Sunday, 27-Jan-2008 21:39:54

Oh yeah, there's some great ones from Phantom of the opera. I'm not a huge musical fan, but that one's definitely got some excellent romantic music. "Think of me" is also a good one.

Post 28 by DancingAfterDark (I just keep on posting!) on Tuesday, 18-Mar-2008 2:59:25

Awww Nem, how cute.
And lmfao, I think Pipi's is the best answer by far. That's definitely the song I want to dance to at my wedding.

My list is so ridiculously long, it would take multiple posts to get the entire thing. I agree with "Fields of Gold", though--love that song. Also "Dance Me to the End of Love" by Leonard Cohen, although I'm not so fond of his version of it. There are several Beatles songs that fall in this category for me, but I can't remember any of their names at the moment. Oh wait, "When I'm 64". I think that's what it's called. My taste in music is generally a bit odd, so most of the others on my list aren't really well-known. "Naked As We came" and "Fever Dream" by Iron & Wine are two of my very favorites, along with several Jack Johnson songs--"Better Together", "Do You Remember", et cetera. "Love Song" by The Cure is pretty good as well. "Mushaboom" by Feist, "I Will Follow You into the Dark" by Death Cab for Cutie, "Brand New Colony" by The Postal Service (another of my very favorites) ... the list goes on and on. But I'll shut up now.

Post 36 by louisa (move over school!) on Monday, 12-May-2008 14:23:17

For me two of the songs that I would call romantic are, nights in white satin by the moody blues and longer than by dan forgelberg.

Post 37 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Saturday, 07-Jun-2008 16:44:52

I have a few:
Show and Tell by Al Wilson, Anywhere by Evanescence, Time In A Bottle by Jim Croce, Everything Changes by Staind, and More Than Words by Extreme. There are actually quite a lot from all different genres. For example, there's a song by Killswitch Engage called The Eye Of The Storm that's romantic in the fact that you don't often hear heavy metal love songs, but I wouldn't call the song romantic just because of that, it's just different, but the other songs I've mentioned are great for requesting on the radio or for when you're just spending quiet time together with that special someone.

Post 38 by GreenTurtle (Music is life. Love. Vitality.) on Thursday, 19-Jun-2008 19:57:40

Oh, I thought of another one, Fast Car by Tracy Chapman.

Not bad. "Sexy Love," by Niyo mmmmm "No Air." "I remember it well," by Dameon Ryce, "U Get me," by Michelle Branch, "Magic Works," off the Hp 4 sound track... Good song. "Without Love," from hairspray... Ok not really romantic but kinda cute if ya don't listen to it one too many times "Timeless to me." from Hairspray yeah...

Post 40 by Winterfresh (This is who I am, an what I am about. If you don't like it, too damn bad!!!) on Tuesday, 24-Jun-2008 13:52:16

I knew I forgot one. "This Marriage." by Eric Whitacre... AKA sexy god of composers toda. Mmmmmmm. "With a lilly in her hand," is stockerish but very romantic in a way.

We belong together was a great song until it got overplayed, but you're right, that's still a good romantic song. I've never heard With You, but Angel definitely works.

Mmmmmmm! Love this topic!
Well, first off, i'm quite surprised that "Fields of Gold" was mentioned here, great song!
A few others include:
Save The Best for Last. Vanessa Williams
Can I Have This Kiss Forever. Whitney Houston
Saving All My Love For You. Whitney Houston
Always Be My Baby. Mariah Carey
In The Still of The Night. Boys II Men
You're Still The One. Shania Twain
Breathe. Faith Hill
Love Hurts. Nazareth (I like that song because there is a Spanish version of it)
And there are a lot more...I love love songs, but can't think of anything off the top of my head...the thing is, I'm more into some of the depressing stuff I would say.
Oh, and "Because You loved Me" by Celin Dion.
"I Never Knew a Love Like This Before" by Stephanie Mills
I think that is all...I'll probably be back! Lol!

I'm totally not good with artists/song titles. I like a lot of the ones mentioned here though. I know. Kinda a pointless post.

Nothing else matters by metallica .. also . "wish you were here" i guess both the song by Incubus and Pink Floyd could suffice .. espcially for long distance relationships. And have to agree with Crazy Bitch by buckcheery, and Seventeen by winger lol. Also love song but my favorite version is the Jack off Jill cover of it (the 311 cover of that song should be destroyed and buried to never be heard again .. and i like 311 just not that song by them). oh and that red hot chille peppers song mentioned earlier is called Under the Bridge.

Holly, I can think of several that are oldies, too. Can I Have this Dance ranks up there.

If I fell by The beetles
Is There a Chance by David Foster
The Way You Look Tonight
Mona Lisa
I'll probably think of more.
